Katonah, NY,  June 1, 2015—Authors Kathryn P. Haydon and Jane Harvey have produced Creativity for Everybody, an approachable book on creative thinking to be released in June 2015.

The authors of Creativity for Everybody aim to bring awareness to parents, teachers, employees, and students that everyone is inherently creative and creativity can be practiced and improved.  “We wanted to deliver a depth of substance about creativity and dispel myths in a simple, fun, and visually interesting way.  This makes creativity more accessible to anyone,” said Harvey.

Creativity for Everybody is a collection of narrative, illustrations, and stories that can be digested quickly.  The book includes a hearty endnotes section of research with further explanation to back up the authors’ points.  Haydon explained, “The book outlines the framework of the science of creativity that many people are searching for, but can’t quite articulate.  It sparks people to consider how creativity already plays a part in their lives.”

Haydon and Harvey acknowledge there are many books about creativity, but they designed theirs to simplify the topic for busy readers in a way that no other book has done.  “We look at Creativity for Everybody as a gift,” said Harvey. “If just one person’s life is enhanced because they become aware of their own creative strengths, we have done our job.”

Educator Kathryn P. Haydon, founder of Sparkitivity (sparkitivity.com), mentors families, teachers, and students to understand and take hold of their own creative strengths for progress and growth.  She delivers interactive keynotes and workshops nationally, and writes extensively about creativity, parenting, and teaching outlier students.

Jane Harvey, founder of Visual Translating (visualtranslating.com), is an expert in simplifying complex messages through design and words.  In addition to graphic design, Jane uses visual facilitation and graphic recording to enhance group collaborative work such as problem solving and strategy.  She facilitates workshops for a wide range of organizations, from large businesses to start-ups and community organizations.

First edition, signed, personalized copies of Creativity for Everybody are now available on creativityforeverybody.com.  Books can be purchased on Amazon or at Little Joe’s Books in Katonah.
